– Cinemas Subsidy Scheme and assistance to PMQ tenants
Upon the further injection into the Anti-epidemic Fund, a one-off subsidy of $100,000 per screen is provided to each existing cinema with commercial operation in November 2020 under the Cinemas Subsidy Scheme, capped at $3 million per cinema circuit.
Under the Government’s further financial assistance to PMQ, rentals payable by PMQ’s tenants are reduced by 75% throughout January to March 2021.
Further Injection into the Anti-epidemic Fund - Summary of Measures
Organised by CreateHK, the Film Production Financing Scheme (Relaxation Plan) is open for applications. The application forms and details are available on the website of the Hong Kong Film Development Council (FDC). DEADLINE is extended to: 14 July 2021.
The Film Development Fund earmarks around $260 million to implement five major measures to energise Hong Kong films. In addition to the Film Production Financing Scheme (Relaxation Plan) (FPFS), the others are –
- Directors’ Succession Scheme;
- Scriptwriting Incubation Programme;
- short-term advanced training programmes; and
- enhanced First Feature Film Initiative.

Sponsored by CreateHK, the Redress Design Award 2021 co-organises an online workshop with the Fashion Archive of the Hong Kong Design Institute on 25 January 2021 for local students and emerging designers on circular design strategies and techniques. The workshop is open for FREE online registration.
The Redress Design Award 2021, which aims to promote sustainable fashion design, is also open for FREE applications. DEADLINE: 15 March 2021.
Concurrently, the project’s online Pathway Course which supports emerging designers in deepening their knowledge of circular fashion design strategies and techniques is held until 26 January, and a FREE virtual exhibition is held to showcase the sustainable creations of the Redress Design Award 2020 finalists.

– Online Hong Kong pavilion at the Taipei Game Show 2021 on 28 to 31
Sponsored by CreateHK, the 2nd Hong Kong Game Enhancement and Promotion Scheme sets up an online Hong Kong pavilion at the Taipei Game Show 2021 to showcase the 12 original games of the participating Hong Kong game start-ups. The Taipei Game Show 2021 is held on 28 to 31 January 2021 with the online Hong Kong pavilion open for FREE visit.
The Hong Kong Game Enhancement and Promotion Scheme supports local game start-ups to enhance the quality and profitability of their new original games.

Online Hong Kong Pavilion at Taipei Game Show 2021

Sponsored by CreateHK, the following projects are organised to set up creative landmarks to promote Hong Kong’s animation and comics sectors –
Avenue of Comic Stars Phase 3 at the Kowloon Park in Tsim Sha Tsui to be completed in the first half of 2021 featuring 32 sculptures of local comics characters, bronze handprints of 30 distinguished local comics artists, works of a total of 30 local emerging or recommended comics artists, and workshops for local primary and secondary students ; and
Ani-Com Park at the promenade and open space near Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai with 36 sculptures of local comics characters.
Both Ani-Com Park and Avenue of Comic Stars Phase 3 provide dedicated mobile app with augmented reality (AR) function for visitors to take photos with the comics characters. Open for FREE visit.
